How A Job Runs In Order
Measuring Visit Inside The Working Radius
Free measuring visits cover 18 miles from Chichester PO19. Visits from 19 to 28 miles are £35, refunded if the job is booked. Measuring is usually Friday afternoon or Saturday morning.
Written Price With Materials Named
The quote names the materials, labour, waste removal, access assumptions and start window. Minimum booked work is one full day on site or £520 labour, whichever is higher. Small repairs are charged at £260 for the first half day for a two-person team, then £42 per person per hour after that.
Deposit, Ordering And Access Notes
A 30% deposit books the start date. Materials are normally ordered 7 days before the start, after final measurements are confirmed. Neighbour access and parking are agreed before timber arrives.
Build Days, Tidying And Balance
Build days are kept orderly, with a final walk-round at completion. The balance is due within 3 days of completion.

Tidiness Is A Habit, Not A Line On A Quote
At the end of a day, timber is stacked where it cannot roll into planting or a doorway. Paths are swept enough for normal use, screw boxes are shut and tools are not left where a dog or child will find them before breakfast.
If a neighbour’s drive is close to the work, offcuts and bags are kept back from the boundary rather than slowly spreading across it. Will would rather spend ten minutes resetting the site than start the next morning apologising.
That habit comes from years fitting for other landscaping firms, where the build was only part of the job. A garden still has to function while the fence is halfway down or the old deck is in a stack.

What To Watch Once The Timber Settles
- Fresh timber movementNew timber can shrink, swell and lighten as it dries through the first season.
- Oiling decksSoftwood decks need cleaning and oiling if you want the colour and surface to age well.
- Gate latchesCheck the latch after the first wet week. Call back if it needs a small adjustment.
- Early questionsIf something feels wrong after completion, email photos before trying to force it.
